alpha PC164 w/ DE450 vs. kernel 2.1.79

So I compiled a kernel and managed to boot it. Grand, but when I tried
to boot it again, I can't. It is true that when i reboot from MILO I use
the command ether=0,0,eth1 whereas the first time I did not. The following
is a dmesg dump from a successful 2.0.32 dump. Could it be there is a
problem with the driver for the DE450 ethernet board?
