I've been having a few problems with klogd & kerneld in recent 2.1.x
kernels. In my syslogs since 2.1.79 I have been getting messages similar
to this:

Jan 21 18:36:28 bucket modprobe: can't locate module ph^??^DB^F@4i^??@^B
Jan 21 18:43:59 bucket modprobe: can't locate module

I am using the kerneld from modutils 2.1.71 on a pretty stock RedHat 5
sysstem.

I also get this when I start klogd.

Jan 21 16:00:41 bucket kernel: klogd 1.3-3, log source = /proc/kmsg
started.
Jan 21 16:00:42 bucket kernel: Loaded 4568 symbols from /boot/System.map.
Jan 21 16:00:42 bucket kernel: Symbols match kernel version 2.1.80.
Jan 21 16:00:42 bucket kernel: Error seeking in /dev/kmem
Jan 21 16:00:42 bucket kernel: Error adding kernel module table entry.

Also, sometimes when I reboot and it is shutting down all the daemons, it
comes up with "No such pid(nnn)" after pausing for a second or so.

Cheers,

Dave.
