I don't know if it could be related in any form:

I'm getting infrequent hangups (with 2.0.33, but also previous
Versions) with programs reading from a scsi tape drive. The Processes
are waiting forever in __do_down (only one at a time, because the
device stays busy and I have to reboot before I can use it again).
