3C900 "Boomerang" and 2.1.xx kernels?

Guys,

When are we going to get an up-to-date driver for the 3COM
3C590 "Vortex" and 3C90x "Boomerang" in the standard 2.1.xx
kernel distributions?

Is it safe to copy over the latest ../drivers/net/3c59x.c
from a 2.0.32 source tree? will it work?
