Maybe not in the "official" tree, but the old (<1.1.5x) dualmon stuff
that I used to maintain certainly did have this capability (I just
checked the source to make sure). It was pretty cool, and not very
difficult to implement.

I do not know if the "multimon" package still supports this, or is
that how this whole thread got started?
