problems in pre-2.0.33-3

Hi,
I applied patch pre-patch-2.0.33-3 to my linux box but this still did not
solve the latest garbage.c bug. Whenever i exploit this bug, i get kernel
panic and the machine completly hangs. Are there any fixes else than the
pre-patch-2.0.33-3 (which includes the patch provided by the author of the
exploit script.)
