I got this exiting fdisk when repartitioning harddrive:
Calling ioctl() to re-read partition table.
(Reboot to ensure the partition table has been updated.)
hdd:<5>ll_rw_block: device 16:40: only 512-char blocks implemented (1024)
unable to read partition table
hdd:<5>ll_rw_block: device 16:40: only 512-char blocks implemented (1024)
unable to read partition table
also, badblocks and mke2fs both failed.
FWIW it was two VFAT-partitions before and linux could read both (and
write) properly.
Also : for some reason drive is DMA-enabled : might that do something?
[disabled DMA - no change]
I don't know how to diagnose this any further....
am running a slightly patched 2.1.65 - there MIGHT be a problem with
ll_rw_block but I don't think so (checking source).
G'day, eh? :)
