The general concensus has been that the latest 3c59x.c driver works much
better on Boomerang cards, while the older Vortex cards require the older
version of the driver to work well......

Honestly, there has been enough argument about this that it almost makes a
person half tempted to set down, put both .c files in the net directory
under slightly different names, and make the older version the Vortex driver
and make the newer version the Boomerang driver with separate config entries
(and mutually exclusive as well unless compiled as modules).
