Also, intel has an iron-clad committment to reverse-compatibility
within the x86 line. This is a good part of why they were so upset
about people's discovery of the RDTSC and other hidden pentium-isms; now
they have to support them until the end of time. In that environment,
I would not be eager to give people a draft copy of my chip spec either.
