Never tried PCMCIA + PC104 and now I am glad didnt :). For stuff were
doing (data comms), we found that PC104 solutions in general were way
too expensive once you get everything together. All it buys you size,
and you pay a lot for that. If you have to build your own enclosures
anyway then you can design with standard PC components and have a very
compact, reliable and attractive "embedded" Linux based system. Its just
not as small as a PC104 based design.
