2.1.49 All processes freeze and other Oopses

It's happened for the second time. I'm running 2.1.49 with just compile
fixes. After running for a while everything just suddenly locked up. VT
switching and the lock keys work, but there is no activity and SysRq
doesn't work at all. My dialup PPP disconnects a lot but I don't know if
that is related.

Also in a non-freezing event I got a bunch of Oopses:
