I'm sorry I'm not able to offer a bug fix, but at any
rate, with the pre-2.1.48 patch applied, my Linux box
still fails to include a subdirectory "parport" in proc,
and
echo "test" >/dev/lp0
results in a message of "Trying to free free IRQ8".
Too bad, IRQ8 is listed for rtc in /proc/interrupts,
and parport0 is not included there. The printer gets
some data, but fails to print properly.
