i'm trying to set up a machine to respond to two IP addresses so that i
can run one machine hosting two hostnames. i found a HowTo which deals
with virtual-hosting, but i can't get ifconfig to respond in the way the
HowTo describes.
for instance:
ifconfig eth0 alias www.myNewHostName.com
returns an error telling me that "alias" is an unknown host....
i also found:
http://www.apache.org/docs/misc/vif-info.html
which pretty mush describes precisely what i am trying to achieve & why,
but the examples they offer don't seem to work with linux.
if anyone can offer any pointers as to how i can achieve my goals i'd be
very grateful.
