'mode' option broken in MS-DOS FS

While trying making the DOS partition on Fritz group-writable, I
discovered, that the 'mode' option in mount command doesn't work.

'Mode=value' (see mount(8)) forces all files to have an access mode of
value (there is a little exception for directories - if read-bit is
set, then search-bit gets set automatically). However all my attempts
to make use of this option in various combinations with the other ones
failed. It just doesn't work, although the 'mount' output shows the
option set, which suggests it is an FS layer error, rather than an
application one.

Finally, I made use of the 'umask' option setting it to
002. Currently, the fstab entry looks like that:

/dev/hda1 /dos msdos defaults,uid=506,gid=100,umask=002 0 0
