In addition to recent messages about a memory leak in IP aliases code,
I'd like to add my 2 cents.
I found a very annoying "feature" of kernels 2.0.29, 2.0.30 (and
possibly 2.0.27). When I use the kernel with IP aliases support
compiled in, I notice that from time to time klogd dies. The symptoms
are the following (in the logs):
Jun 15 14:54:19 morannon kernel: Cannot read proc file system: 9 - Bad file number.
Jun 15 15:07:01 morannon last message repeated 25733 times
...and the latter message starts filling the log
When IP aliases are turned off I don't remember having such problem.
