in fact, here is an example with about 105 people logged in via mars_nwe
[root@common /root]# free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 63260 27000 36260 52204 2428 6612
-/+ buffers: 17960 45300
Swap: 102780 0 102780
each mars_nwe user takes up roughly 200k of ram
and according to top, there are about 142 processes running
to, at around 300 users there would be approx. 342 processes running
I shouldn't think this would be a problem, or is it? :)
*kernel newbie, but linux user/administrator sage alert*
Damnit...thtat's it....I'm just going to have to memorize the entire kernel
code :)
