2.1.31 not booting with IDE

I just upgraded from 2.1.29 to 2.1.31 along with binutils-2.7.0.9 and
modutils-2.1.29-970320 and it's not booting anymore. The kernel is loaded,
uncompressed and it hangs after the message "Now booting the kernel...".
Next should be:
ide_setup: hda=2484,16,63
ide_setup: hdb=2100,16,63

Booting with the older 2.1.29 kernel still works. I do have IDE support
enabled (not as module).

CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEDISK=y
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDECD=m
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_TRITON=y

Any ideas?
