Time to make a retraction--I posted about not being able to insmod the ppa
driver for a parallel port zip drive due to "io port 0x378 in use". The real
culprit was a cable that had come loose since I last used it. Don't I feel
stupid now. Anyway, all of my modules are working nicely now.

As a side note, does anybody know why scsi_syms.o is copied to the modules
directory by "make modules_install" when it is not, in fact, a module?
