I've observed the same problem with a Linux server and Solaris 2.4
client. I've tried several versions of the Linux software involved
(kernel, libc, nfsd, portmap) without any affect on the problem.
I had the problem when building ssh - and only ssh - on the sparc
and after that "make distclean".
