Yes, this is what they are doing now. The only restriction (not
sure if it can't be lifted) is that you must compile the utilities
with a 2.1 source tree (to get the proper syscall definition).
I have spent quite some time on it with 2.0 kernel to make sure all
was fine. I have not tried them on linux Sparc though.
Ok, just wondering, because I have built 2.0.x kernels for people
using new modutils and they had 2.0.x modutils installed and saw many
unresolved symbols and other problems with modutils when they
attempted to use that prebuilt kernel and modules.
I'll try to do some testing...
