I'm working on a new set of all-singing, all-dancing Makefiles that
support:
split source and target trees
read-only source tree
automatic dependencies with gcc -MD
recompilation when compile flags change
several other nifty features
It's not ready for alpha testing yet, but I've written up some
notes on my work in progress. They are at:
