wd8003 not working as module

Alrighty then,
I can't get an SMC/WD8003 driver to run as a module. I'm using all
the current lib's specified in Changes. I am using kerneld, and all the
other modules (ppp,slip,watchdog,etc...) load correctly. Any thoughts?

kernel: 2.1.21
modutils:970118 with patch kernel.diff installed
(changed ./modutil-970118/include/version.h to be correct)

modprobe -c lists the 'alias eth0 off' as the device
Compiled into the kernel, it loads fine. - Andy:)
