I have uploaded version 3.8-beta2 of OSS/Free to
ftp://ftp.4front-tech.com/ossfree. The file is
ossfree38-beta2-linux21x.tar.gz. It works only with Linux 2.1.x versions
(OSS/Linux 3.8-beta2 for Linux 1.2.x and 2.0.x should be released soon).
This site has few mirrors. Please look at
http://www.4front-tech.com/ossfree/alpha.html for list of them.
Audio playback related code in dmabuf.c has been rewritten almost
completely so it's possible that this breaks some applications. Please
report all incompatibilities you find directly to me so that they can be
fixed. In addition it's possible that SB1.0 and 1.5 versions no longer
works.
Most other parts of the driver (MIDI, audio input, mixer, etc) has
remained almost unchanged since beta1 version.
If nothing special is reported I will send this version to Linus for
inclusion into the kernel distribution.
