After running it thru strace and gdb, the dump occurs just after a series of
attempts by syslogd to open the following file/directory:
/etc/locale/C/libc.cat
/usr/lib/locale/C/libc.cat
/usr/lib/locale/libc/C
/usr/share/locale/C/libc.cat
/usr/local/share/locale/C/libc.cat
These series of paths/filenames are built from a call inside the executable that
looks like below:
NLSPATH
/etc/locale/%L/%N.cat:/usr/lib/locale/%L/%N.cat:/usr/lib/locale/%N/%L:/usr/share
/local/
%L/%N.cat:/usr/local/share/locale/%L/%N.cat
Anyone have any ideas whats going on here? Or better suggestions on how to get
to
the bottom? Thanks, Morgan
