Some additions to my serial mouse problem:
AFTER using my modem to connect to my local
internet provider, I started X again
... and ... the mouse is working. It seems,
that the slhc.module (which was used while
connected to the provider) was missing for
the mouse.
But why?
The boot sequence shows nothing special...
