how many vtys?

I'm running 2.1.13... I only have tty 1-9 and only 1-6 are text... 7 seems
to be X only
how are you guys getting 24+ is there a config for that... B/C god knows I
could use them...
In fact.. in my /dev/I only HAVE tty 1-9 then tty[CSpqrs]
where are you getting vtty?
