Adaptec 1520 scsi

I recently obtained a cd-r drive that I have attatched to an Adaptec 1520B
scsi
controller. I removed my IDE cd drive and recompiled my kernel (2.0.0) for
scsi cd support, iso9660 file system support, and support for the Adaptec
152x card.
When I boot Linux now I get a ton or errors related to the scsi and cd and
I can't mount the cd at all. The complie went fine and I don't know what the
heck I'm doing wrong. If anyone has any ideas or has had experience with this
scsi card please give me your input.
