(i.e. if you have libc-5.4.13 installed)
hit the following:
cd /lib
strip libc.so.5.4.13
or, when you compile a program, do "strip program.filename"
The file is so large because the libc is compiled with -g1, and all the
symbols are kept in, for debugging purposes.
