For the record, my first hard cold crash too. Similar situation, xdm,
2.1.9, network related. However, I wrote this email mostly because I
find it interesting it was my first hard cold crash since 1.3.2X that
I can remember (same as you describe, not even a LED, 5m after boot).
I have no doubt the wonderful networking folks working on IPv6 will
fix it before a few more versions hit FTP, if it's indeed in their
stuff.
