When I insert the sound module, it often fails to initialize the card.
Sometimes, though, it manages it.
Patches added to kernel:
Plug'n'Play BIOS support (the card isn't PnP, so I don't suspect this)
PC speaker driver
AWE32 driver
Is this a problem with the SMP interrupt handling? Could this be a
manifestation of the problem that older versions this motherboard are
reported to have with CPUs at or above 120MHz and 512Kb cache? I was
assured that it had been fixed when I ordered the board.
What is the current kernel version regarded as stable for SMP? The most
recent information I could find says don't use anything >= 2.0.15 because
the interrupt handlers are broken, but that was two months ago. Are they
fixed yet?
