Linux 2.0.3 Networking stalling? + Sound unresolved symbol

I upgraded my news server to 2.0.3 and got awfully slow telnet sessions. Some were stuck for a
few minutes others were not revivable at all. Downgrading to 2.0.1 solved the problem.

Setup

HOSTA (Home) Linux 2.0.3

PPP Link 28.8K Modem

HOSTB (ComServ) Linux 2.0.1

10MB Ethernet

HOSTC (News Server) Linux 2.0.3

There is also a problem with the sound system in 2.0.3. I could not compile it
I got two unresolved symbols.

One of them was
DMAbuf_init()
