Selection ,gpm & 2.0.1

Hi,
Can anybody help me to find out what's the problem with the selection
program and the new kernel release.
I've just install it ,and after I 've rebooted ,when it tried to install
selectio ,from rc.local, the computer paralyzed...
After I've rebooted with the 2.0.0 ,i've commented the section with
selection in rc.local ,and I've restarted the system with 2.0.1 ,and only
after I've executed psupdate the selection program has started.
But not always ,go right.
Can somebody tell me something (if you 've understood
what I've written)
