Your soundcard maybe the cause for your dead keyb. Have you tried
to modularize your sound driver and load it after loggin in?
Secondy I think it's not best to use two different IRQ's for DOS and
Linux. Eg. my Logitech Soundman 16(Pro Audo Spectrum 16 compatible)
needs special handling(Machine power off, hard reset or special
do_reset_when_reboot-Register set) when I try to change settings.
Have you tried to use same settings in Linux as in DOS(IRQ=7)?
