Pesky "lp1" messages starting with 1.99.12

I just happened to notice, while trying to track down a different anomaly,
that my kernel has begun loggin messages saying "lp1 off-line" every minute
or two since I booted it first this afternoon.

This is new this revision.

Nothing has changed on my system.
