I generated this diff against 1.2.10, I can guarantee that.
I guess the patch fails because I forgot to put a blank line between
the last line in the patch and my signature block, and it thinks
that the "--" before the sigblock is part of the patch.
Ouch! I really need to get some more sleep at nights.
All that this patch does is to close the quotes at the end of
"$CONFIG_EXPERIMENTAL". You can apply it by hand, if you want to.
