1.3.27 oops

i can reproduce this one... as far as i know, it only started under 1.3.27,
but we upgraded from 1.3.24 so it could be anywhere in that range... the
problem occurs when I have a pine process running, and I try to start
another new one. The PINE program normally would try to gain access to my
mail file, but can't because of file lock. So it would say "trying to
get access to inbox from process xxxxx", and finally "another session is
accessing inbox, opening inbox read-only". However, under 1.3.27, it now
produces this gpf:

IN FACT, I was just using ncftp in another VT to try to access the kernel
changes archive on a sunsite mirror, and when I closed NCFTP, the same
general protection fault occured.
