1.3.2[1 or 2?] breaks term partially

For some odd reason, upgrading to 1.3.21 or 22 (I'm not sure
which, I think .22) broke term 2.3.5 partially. ircII and trsh and
finger (all termified/compiled with term support) still worked, but
(at least) ftp, telnet and tupload were broken (they gave a "bad file
number" error, or in the case of tupload it gave an error of 'unable
to connect to socket <path>'). Downgrading to 1.2.5 solves the
problem. Could this be fixed, please? :)
