It depends on the nature of the problem. Having trouble to compile
the kernel is not the kind of problem this mailinglist should solve.
If you can't get that right, you shouldn't be subscribing to this list.
There are (presumably) other mailinglists for those kind of problems.
Maybe this one was a borderline case, because it brought the attention
to some kludgy pathwork in the kernel sources.
