Ok, I figured 1.3.16 was buggy, si I'd wait till 1.3.17. 1.3.17 still
didn't work, so I compiled 1.3.18 with anticipation. STILL the kernel failed.

would there be any chance I need to recompile init or something? someone?
anyone with any suggestions?

This type of thing happened with 1.3.16, 1.3.17, and 1.3.18. 16 & 17 were compiled elf, while .18 was comiled as a.out.

init is version 2.4.

8/10/95. I am suspicious of the fact that init is the problem, as 1.3.15 and below boot fine. Is there something new starting with 1.3.16 that breaks _MY_ init, or should I look elsewhere?
