Slip vs Dos Terminal

Is Slip connection just inheriatlly slow vs dos terminal programs

For some reason with i am connect using slip i get scroll lag...

In dos i get smooth scrolling...

Same server for both connections
I am tried setting mtu to 1500, 1024, 400, and 250.
