Yes... That's how it's called in the programming manual.

I believe it's because this mode adds the possibility to create OSDs with the overlay plane.

The src_* fields of a drm_plane are in 16.16 fixed-point format, hence the >>16. I didn't invent that here.

This is then ocnverted to an int used as index to an array later.
Something a bit more explicit would be more readable.
