Regardind the shutdown in linux

Hi,
 
I have a question regarding the shutdown procedure in kernel. Like when we 
 
turn off any mobile device/system, Which kernel component handles this in kernel.
 
Since power management core in the linux kernel handles the standby and hibernate
 
modes. So In kernel which component does the shutdown?
