[GIT PULL] cputime patches for 2.6.29

From: Martin Schwidefsky
Date: Mon Dec 29 2008 - 05:51:36 EST

Hi Linus,

and another one: the cputime accouting patches I've been working on the
last few weeks. The whole thing started with the observation that the
figures for the idle time from the hypervisor differ from the Linux
numbers. The bug is in Linux, the cpu cycles used by the idle process
are accounted as idle time instead of system time. To fix this I had to
split out the idle time accounting from account_system_time.

Please pull from 'cputime' branch of

git://git390.osdl.marist.edu/pub/scm/linux-2.6.git cputime

to receive the following updates:

Martin Schwidefsky (6):
fix scaled & unscaled cputime accounting
idle cputime accounting
improve precision of process accounting.
improve precision of idle time detection.
improve idle cputime accounting
fast vdso implementation for CLOCK_THREAD_CPUTIME_ID
