When an EIO occurs, I think. For example,

retval = kernel_read(interpreter, interp_elf_ex->e_phoff,
(char *)elf_phdata,size);
error = -EIO;
if (retval != size) {
if (retval < 0)
error = retval;
goto out_close;
}
