Thanks for the hint.

ARCH_SELECT_MEMORY_MODEL depends on X86_32. Is that too restrictive?

config ARCH_SELECT_MEMORY_MODEL
def_bool y
depends on X86_32 && ARCH_SPARSEMEM_ENABLE
