The 'i' at the end of the regex means case-insensitive ;) but yes, I
forgot whitespace. So something like:

if ($name =~ /[^a-z0-9[:space:]]/i) {
quote_name;
}

My recommendation was mostly based on what pine does. It seems to be a
pretty sane MUA...
