Weird kernel message about irq when loading ehci_hcd

From: Martin Bammer
Date: Mon Jul 12 2004 - 07:36:14 EST

I don't know if this problem is grave for some other users. On my PC the
system works perfectly, but the output of dmesg may indicate a kernel (driver
usbcore?) bug.

Kernel version is 2.6.7 downloaded from kernel.org without any additional
patches and self compiled on a Debian sid system with gcc3.3 for Athlon XP
and preempt activated.

Output of dmesg (see ehci_hcd part -> irq 11):

Linux version 2.6.7 (root@bender) (gcc-Version 3.3.3 (Debian 20040429)) #1 Wed

I tried to reload the usbcore driver module (and also the network driver 3c95x
to completely free irq 11 because these 2 drivers share this irq) at runtime
and watched syslog, but the error does not occur. It only occurs at startup
of the system.

Cheers, Martin
