i came across this while playing with hdparm

========================================

the bios on this machine (hp ze4423ea laptop) is horribly broken

without 'pci=noacpi pci=usepirqmask' i get:

Jan 18 13:10:52 hades kernel: ACPI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin A of device 0
000:00:10.0

i played with hdparm cause the whole cpu time is eaten by io-wait whenever there is disk-io
in this state everything slows down to a crawl and the box is nearly unusable while its swapping

changing unmask irq or switching from dma to non dma mode doesnt change anything
