Question about UFS/UFS2

Hi,
Is anybody working on/planning  to support UFS2 filesystem 
( of FreeBSD 5.x ) in Linux ?
As far as I understand , even ufs support is read only (not quite stable ).
Anybody working in this area ? Or should I  try to get my hands dirty ?
