Oops in 2.5.64bk3

From: J Sloan (joe@tmsusa.com)
Date: Sun Mar 09 2003 - 13:09:34 EST

Greetings -

A report of an oops from 2.4.64bk3 follows:

kernel: 2.5.64bk3

Linux distro: Red Hat 8.0 + updates

Hardware:
Celeron 1.2 Ghz on genuine Intel Motherboard, 512 MB RAM
(lspci output attached)

Problem manifestation:

We see normal operation from boot until some arbitrary
time, usually within 12-24 hours after boot, when an oops
occurs, accompanied by cessation of iptables, squid and
dns functionality - sometimes can be rebooted with magic
sysrq keys, sometimes not.

I've attached the entire dmesg output since it's not much
longer than the oops and may contain useful information.

.config also attached

Note this sort of oops has been occurring for the past
few 2.5 releases, even when I compile without dri.

BTW 2.4.21-pre4-ac is quite solid on this box -

OK, going to check out -bk4 and -mm4 next

Best Regards,

Joe
